Daniella’s story

Daniella had previously worked in care roles, but found herself frustrated by the way things were. Since joining love2care, she has rediscovered her passion for care and been able to turn ‘a job’ into ‘a career’. Here’s her story.

I have always had a passion for care, and originally wanted to be a nurse; so I studied health and social care at college. Along the way I started volunteering at a residential care home, and that’s when I decided to pursue care instead.

I’ve worked across community care and as a hospital healthcare assistant, so I have experienced different types of care work. Although I was passionate about care, I struggled with the actual jobs. I felt over-worked, under-appreciated and there was no person-centred care. That isn’t what care is about!

love2care has given me the chance to reconnect with my original passion. I have built trust and friendship with the people I support. They look forward to seeing me, and I get a massive smile! It makes me feel like I’m doing my job when I know I have made an impact on someone’s life. And when it comes to my team, they are my work family! We all look out for one another – bringing each other up if we’re feeling down, even with issues outside work.

If you’ve been disappointed by working in care before, I would highly recommend giving love2care a try. They have really changed my views on the sector and made me see that not all care business are the same. In my other jobs I never felt I had anywhere to progress. love2care has shown me how much I can achieve and given me the confidence to believe I can grow even further. Maybe it could do the same for you!
