Wondering what’s it like working for love2care? Here are some of the ways we’re different.

1. We treat everyone as an individual

We provide very bespoke, highly-personalised care and support. This is backed up to our outcomes-based approach to planning, which means that we start with understanding the change that people want to see in their life and then come up with ways to make it happen. In practice, this means that everyone we support gets a care and support plan that reflects what really matters to them. Whilst this might also include everyday care such as preparing meals, bathing or personal care; it can also lead to so much more.

2. We believe in the power of community

People thrive when they build meaningful relationships with others and can play an active role in their community. Everyone we support is offered an opportunity to talk with our Community Coordinator to help them think about what that might look like for them, and then we come up with an action plan to make it happen. As a team member, you can be confident that you’re helping people to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation, and helping them to live their best life.

3. We’re not just a team, we’re a family

We work hard to create a sense of family and belonging. For the people we support, this means that you don’t just get a member of staff, you get a personal experience. For people who work for us, belonging to such an inspirational team makes coming to work a pleasure. 4. We foster compassion and creativity

We look for people who are able to take a step back from a situation and look at the bigger picture, so they can provide care that will improve people’s lives in the long-term. There’s no doubt that compassion and kindness is at the heart of love2care’s work, but our team also needs to be creative and forward-thinking in their approach to work so every decision they take reflects people’s individual needs, aspirations and preferences; leading to those magic moments where people feel like they are really seen for who they are. 5. We recognise your contribution

We believe in fostering our team’s wellbeing. Part of that is through recognising the contribution they make, as well as being there for them when they need us.

Sometimes we do this through benefits such as being a Living Wage Employer, providing a mobile phone with data allowance, recognising birthdays with a personal gift, and providing membership to the NHS Discount Card scheme.

At other times, it’s about making sure that we’re always there to lend an ear when you need a helping hand. We want our team to feel listened to and heard, so we actively ask for feedback on how we work as an organisation, as well as feedback from people we are supporting. We use a messaging app so our teams to have open communication with one another, and we ensure that our team members always have access to someone else on the team at all times in case they need a little advice or support.

6. We provide opportunities to develop and grow

We want our team to feel that they have the opportunity to grow and develop, so we ensure that the team has a space every month to spend time together. Alongside this, we provide full training – both at induction, and on an ongoing basis – so you can be sure you are comfortable and confident in your role. Some of our team members are also pursuing professional qualifications, and we will do whatever we can to support them to do so.
